Asian Paints Sharad Samman, the mere mention of the name brings to our mind the dogma “Shuddho Suchi, Sustho Ruchi”. The trailblazer in every right of its own can always claim the responsibility of changing the face of Bengal’s biggest festival for ever and for better.
There are a very few tag lines in today’s world that matches up to the product it endorses. But “Shuddho Suchi, Sustho Ruchi” aptly describes what Asian Paints Sharad Sammanhas brought in to Kolkata’s “Sorbojanin Durga Puja Utsav”. It can be accused of bringing in competition amongst the organizers, but the reward and more importantly the recognition and the prestige that a Puja receives by winning the award makes the hard work even more fruitful. The lure of this recognition always eggs on the organizers to dust off the failure of a particular year and gear up for the next year to reach the pinnacle. And those who have already climbed this pinnacle put in the extra hard work, since they know what it is like to taste the biggest success as a Kolkata Sorbojonin Durga Puja Organizer.
Our very own “Laketown Adhibasibrinda Durga Puja Committee” is now regarded as one of the well-known pujas of Kolkata. We would like to attribute the bulk of our success to Asian Paints Sharad Samman. The one thing that connects us with the award is both of our endeavor to uphold our oriental culture through sheer artistry. The chord of “Rural Bengal” in 1998 or “Dantasheswari Temple” in 2001 that we had strived to strike went very well with the jury. Although in 1999, 2003, 2007 and 2008 we missed the award by a whisker, all of these successes and near failures have always inspired us to work even harder for the next year, so that we can showcase our artistry without deviating from the principle of “Shuddho Suchi, Sustho Ruchi”.
Adios & Keep Waiting
