why "reminiscence-strider"

But why “reminiscence-strider: Awesome Phases in the journey of life”. Actually that was not my first choice. From my limited vocab of words, I had zeroed in on “reminiscence”. Clearly, the thought that such a beautiful word would cross many blogger’s mind didn’t cross my mind. The word word would have an apt description of what my blog is going to say. I don't care as long as I have a single reader. Because I can't let all my emotions, feelings, wishes, likes, dislikes, go unrecorded. So what will I do when I'm 40/50/60 or more & will feel like revisiting my younger self. Throughout your life you go through a hell lot of phases. Some are awesome & some are awful. Even when you are living the most awesome, phase of your life, you fail to realize that you are going through a purple patch. But when you look back at your life that you really comprehend the phase. Time is fleeting. It waits for none. What makes a phase awesome are the unreal things about it like a thought, or a dream.

"The unreal is more powerful than the real; because nothing is as perfect as you can imagine it; because its only intangible ideas, concepts, beliefs, fantasies that last. Stone crumbles. Wood rots. People, well, they die. But things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on."

So, if you don't capture it, how are you going to relish it?

Now coming to the awful phases. People like me have those in abundance. Personally what I feel most important about these phases are the way we come out of it. These phases make us stronger and instills in us the qualities of courage and most importantly self-confidence . And when you look back at those, I personally prefer to laugh and enrich myself from those mistakes and take comfort from the decisions that has helped me come out of it a bit stronger that what I was. Because I am a strong believer in the words

“Dusron ke galtiyon se kya sikhna;

Make your own mistakes yaar!!!”

(Not mine). So, its these phases which are in actuality “Awesomer” than the awesome phases in your life.

I guess this have been enough of intellectual dose for a day. So,

Adios & keep waiting…

  1. Dear Atanu,

    I request you to enlist PALLI ASAR SPORTING CLUB for the Sharad Sanman 2009 Contest. The theme goes like this....

    PALLI ASAR SPORTING CLUB, the oldest Club in Sahapur, this year, is commemorating the 78th Durga Puja at the aegis of its Club premises at 11, Joy Krishna Paul Road, Kolkata 700 038, situated at a 3 minutes walk just opposite the road starting from New Alipur Branch of State Bank of India.

    The theme for this year is “Durga Stutih Mohimannita Narir Shakti” – the power of women in every day’s life, conceived and developed by an eminent Art School scholar, Shri Swapan Das. The theme in this year’s puja is based on the eternal characteristics present in woman in every sphere of life. May it be in love and war, nurturing, domestic and household, farming, art, culture, etc. In the current society, there is every facet of women’s life struggling for existence and surviving against all odds and evil power, coming out successfully in the day to day life. This power has been bestowed by the Goddess Durga conferred on each and every woman in the Society. Goddess Durga depicts the dual characteristics of both power and peace. She has in her twenty expressive forms which exist in every woman. These are the “Stutihs” which is present in every woman and transformed genetically in them, from birth. These Stutihs are well versed in the Hindu Mythology Chandipath following the Vishnu – maayeti sadbita depicting the different Stutihs, viz., Chetanaetya bhidhiyate (eternal consciousness), Shakti (power), Matri (mother), Shanti (peace), Nidra (sleep), Smriti (memory), Jaati (genius), Bhranti (delusion), Lajja (modesty), Buddhi (intelligence), Laxmi (good fortunes), Kshuda (hunger), Chhaya (reflection), Khsanti (forgiveness), Trisna (thirst), Sraddha (faith), Kanti (beauty and loveliness), Daya (compassion), Tusti (contentment) and Vritii (activity). All these twenty Stutihs of Goddess Durga are replicated in the form of today’s women and are depicted in the Pandal of this year Puja theme. These are covered with classical paintings and modern art episodes. Every episode and Stutih represents the supreme power of Devi Durga, the mother of all Gods and Goddesses. These Stutihs are engraved with the ultimate primordial being as the demon slayer of her very existence. She dawns on the earth to establish the supremacy of goodness over evil and her Pujo is a way to celebrate the eternal manifestation of truth and purity. She holds the epitome of the graceful beauty, motherliness and the strong and valor warrior, which are in-born in every woman in the Society. A manifestation of the supreme power Adishakti in herself, Devi Durga is the embodiment of the three flowing channels of primordial energy (and the subsequent kundalini powers) – Maha Lakshmi (Central Energy Channel), Maha Saraswati (Right Energy Channel) and Maha Kali (Left Energy Channel). These energies are moulded together to generate the ultimate source of power (cosmic energy) as Devi Durga in every woman. The paintings have been carved out in this order and displayed inside the Pandal.This year theme perhaps will over ride all other theme makers and puja organizers, as it is believed, that the women power shall domain and rule over all others, killing the evils and prevail peace in the Society. Women exists in various qualities - peace achieved through their ascent, quality of love through transformation of greediness and jealousy so as to compete with others, forgiveness for making others to relax and sleep, mother preaching delusion to her children as the children does not understand unless they face delusion and go wrong to discover the truth by themselves, act of shamefulness and shyness to have respect in their body. All these acts and qualities are depicted in this year Puja theme. I personally look forward for your august presence as well as your jury during any of the festive days...
